Distributor Companies

A Distributor is a company (or a company that maintains a division, department or affiliate) located within the United States, Canada or Mexico, whose primary business includes developing ideas for the use of advertising specialties/promotional products, buying such products from suppliers and reselling them to end users/buyers. A distributor carries their own accounts receivables, sells and invoices completely in their own name and operates their own place of business.

Supplier Companies

A supplier is a company within the United States, Canada, or Mexico that manufactures, converts, warehouses, or decorates advertising specialties/promotional products for sale through advertising specialty/promotional products distributors, as its principal business or maintaining a division or department devoted exclusively to this work.

Supplier Application


Multi-Line Rep. Companies

A Multi-line Representative provides sales and/or marketing services for one or more specialty advertising Supplier firms, whom do their own invoicing. A Multi-line Representative is considered to represent the supplier side of our industry.

MLR Application


Business Services Rep.

A Business Services Rep. sells services, information or products (other than promotional products) that support the normal conduct of business.

ELIGIBILITY

Distributor Qualifications:

  • Have been engaged in the specialty advertising/promotional products industry for at least 1 year as a Distributor. (The personal experience of the applying official as an official of another firm in this industry is acceptable.)

  • Have a minimum annual sales volume of specialty advertising/promotional products as a Distributor of $50,000.

  • Sell to at least 5 companies, none of which is connected with the applicant through stock ownership, common directors or officers, common ownership or any other means.

  • Submit invoices from at least 10 specialty advertising/promotional products Suppliers from whom the applicant has purchased specialty advertising/promotional products other than sample products in the past six months, or be a member in good standing of PPAI or SAGE.

Supplier Qualifications:

  • Have been engaged in the specialty advertising/promotional products industry for at least 1 year. (The personal experience of the applying official as an official of another firm in this industry is acceptable.)
  • Have a minimum annual sales volume of specialty advertising/promotional products of $50,000.
  • List at least 5 specialty advertising Distributors to whom the applicant has sold specialty advertising/promotional products other than sample orders in the past six months, or be a member in good standing of PPAI or SAGE.

Multi-Line Representative Qualifications:

  • Have been engaged in the promotional products industry for at least one year.  (The personal experience of the applying official as an official of another firm in this industry is acceptable.)
  • Submit a letter from at least 5 current Distributor or Supplier firms that can verify the  above, or be a member in good standing of PPAI or SAGE.

    Business Services Qualifications:

    • Provide products and services (not promotional products) that are used in or support the normal conduct of business.
    • Have been engaged in the promotional products industry for at least one year.

    • Provide references from five (5) promotional products industry companies that are members of, SAAC, PPAI, SAGE, or a PPAI-recognized regional or international association, who verify that the applying firm provides products or services to companies in the promotional products industry. This can be done in one of the following two ways:

    1. Submit a purchase order from each of the five (5) references for products or services sold by the applying firm within the last year, or


    2. Secure and submit a letter from each of the five (5) references, on their letterhead, verifying that the applying firm provides products or services to companies in the promotional products industry.
