1.With you being in the industry for close to three decades, can you share with me your favorite things about our business and what keeps you involved? What pearls of wisdom would you offer young people entering our industry today?

In this industry, every day offers something different. The dynamic nature of our work ensures that no two days are ever alike. With each new day, we encounter fresh opportunities, innovative products, emerging technologies, new clients, and inevitably, new challenges.  One of the aspects I appreciate most is the strong relationships I have developed with both my peers and supplier partners. These connections are central to our success and make our industry truly unique. It is an environment that can only be fully understood by those who experience it firsthand.  Success in this business hinges on the understanding that “It’s all about relationships.” By recognizing this and actively nurturing these connections, you set yourself up for achievement and growth within the industry.

    2. When were you first introduced to SAAC and when did you become a member? How has SAAC helped you as a regional to strengthen your relationships with suppliers and your industry friends?

I attended my first SAAC event in 2011 and quickly recognized its value, setting a goal to become President – a role I assumed in 2014. Through SAAC, I have built strong professional relationships that feel more like a family than a network of peers. The organization fosters meaningful connections, supports giving back to both the industry and local communities, and offers education that helps members navigate evolving technology and best business practices. These opportunities have been instrumental to my professional growth.

    3. What did you think of the SAAC Expo & Disney California Adventure experience last year?

I always enjoy attending the SAAC Expo to see new products, discuss strategy, reuniting with old industry friends and creating connections with new ones. While everyone knows I am not a big Disney fan, I still had a great time celebrating another successful SAAC show with everyone. Looking forward to changing it up this year.

    4. Would you entertain the idea of running for the board and which position for SAAC? What do you like about SAAC and what would you change?

I would be honored to run for the board again. I have been involved since 2011, serving 5 years on the SAAC board and the last ten on the SAAC Foundation board, along with various committee roles. I value being actively engaged and helping create meaningful, relationship-building opportunities for our promo community.

    5. Are you ready to go back to the beach? We’re heading back to Long Beach for the expo this year and are you excited? What memory can you share with us of being in Long Beach and what are you looking forward to?

I am very excited that we are heading back to Long Beach this year. That feels like “home” to me. My best memory of being in Long Beach was when I was SAAC President in 2014. I was so proud to be a part of something so special and to know that I helped create it, even with a broken foot!
